King David was the second king of Israel and one of the most important figures in the Bible. He began as a humble shepherd, became famous for defeating Goliath, and was chosen by God to lead His people. David was a warrior, a poet, and a man after God’s own heart, known for writing many of the Psalms. Though he sinned greatly, especially in the case of Bathsheba, he also deeply repented. His life was marked by both triumph and trial, and he is remembered as a key ancestor of Jesus Christ.
Paul's letter to the Colossians, a short letter to an insignificant city, is foundational to understanding who Jesus is. Paul addresses the syncretism that was beginning to influence the church of Colossae and he gave them a clear message, Jesus is Supreme over all creation and His centrality to the faith cannot be compromised.
The entire Bible is about Jesus but so many times we read the Old Testament and get lost or confused. In this series, we learn together how to see how the Old Testament points to Jesus.
